Projection based Segmentation of Musical Sheets

چکیده
The automatic recognition of music scores is a key process for the electronic treatment of music information. In this paper, we present the segmentation module of an OMR system. The proposed approach is based on the use of projection profiles for the location of elementary symbols that constitute the music notation. An extensive experimentation was made with the help of a tool developed to this purpose. Reported results shown a high efficiency in the correct location of elementary symbols.

A Hybrid Method for Segmentation and Visualization of Teeth in Multi-Slice CT scan Images
Introduction: Various computer assisted medical procedures such as dental implant, orthodontic planning, face, jaw and cosmetic surgeries require automatic quantification and volumetric visualization of teeth. In this regard, segmentation is a major step. Material and Methods: In this paper, inspired by our previous experiences and considering the anatomical knowledge of teeth and jaws, we prop...
متن کاملTarget detection Bridge Modelling using Point Cloud Segmentation Obtained from Photogrameric UAV
In recent years, great efforts have been made to generate 3D models of urban structures in photogrammetry and remote sensing. 3D reconstruction of the bridge, as one of the most important urban structures in transportation systems, has been neglected because of its geometric and structural complexity. Due to the UAV technology development in spatial data acquisition, in this study, the point cl...
متن کاملAutomatic Segmentation of the Temporal Evolution of Isolated Acoustic Musical Instrument Sounds Using Spectro-temporal Cues
The automatic segmentation of isolated musical instrument sounds according to the temporal evolution is not a trivial task. It requires a model capable of capturing regions such as the attack, decay, sustain and release accurately for many types of instruments with different modes of excitation. The traditional ADSR amplitude envelope model does not apply universally to acoustic musical instrum...
متن کاملAutomated Analysis of Musical Structure
Listening to music and perceiving its structure is a fairly easy task for humans, even for listeners without formal musical training. For example, we can notice changes of notes, chords and keys, though we might not be able to name them (segmentation based on tonality and harmonic analysis); we can parse a musical piece into phrases or sections (segmentation based on recurrent structural analys...
متن کاملMusical Pattern Extraction for Melodic Segmentation
Despite the fact that musical parallelism is considered as an important factor for musical segmentation, there have been very few attempts to describe systematically how exactly it affects grouping processes. The main problem is that musical parallelism itself is very difficult to formalise. In this paper a computational model will be presented that extracts melodic patterns from a given melodi...
